Falafel

Ingredients

  • 1 cup garbanzo beans
  • 1 small onion
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Cilantro (fresh or dried)
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder

Preparation

  • Soak the beans with some baking Soda overnight
  • Cut Onions, garlic and add to blender with cilantro
  • Add salt & pepper
  • Add garbanzo beans and blend all
  • Take out of the blender and add cumin and mix until it looks like a dough
  • Add baking soda and mix
  • Add baking powder, mix again
  • Scoop the mixture with an ice-cream scooper and make into balls – you can choose to bake them by placing them on a cookie sheet with Olive oil in the bottom or fry them (the healthier option is baking

Enjoy with veggies (tomatoes, parsley & pickles) and drizzle tahini sauce on top!
